Job summary

Southpoint Rehabilitation And Healthcare Center in Raleigh, NC seeks a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) for full-time placement. The PTA provides treatments under a PT's supervision, helps identify suitable patients for rehab, and supports daily documentation and billing for PT services.

The role requires a BA or AS in Physical Therapy and current state licensure, with responsibilities spanning teamwork, scheduling, and adherence to safety and confidentiality standards in a long-term

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited PTA program with a BA or Associate degree in Physical Therapy recognized by APTA.
• Holds current license and/or registration in the state.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive treatment to patients under the supervision of a PT according to state practice guidelines.
• Assist PT in identifying appropriate patients and referring them to rehab accordingly.
• Document patient's daily participation and progress on progress notes with PT co-signature.
• Ensure MD orders are obtained for treatments, recertifications and discharges.
• Assist with other documentation per state guidelines.
• Attend facility and rehab meetings when indicated by Supervisor.
• Act as a rehab delegate to the interdisciplinary team.
• Participate in scheduling of patients as indicated.
• Complete billing and bill patients ethically and accurately for physical therapy services rendered.
• Cover other therapists' patient caseload during absences as necessary.
• Supervise junior PTA staff members or students as needed.
• Maintain professional relationships with co-workers, facility staff, patients and patient families.
• Provide in-service education regarding patient care or physical therapy services to rehab staff, facility staff, hospitals and/or community as needed.
• Comply with all facility safety policies and procedures.
• Comply with patient confidentiality and Federal Resident Rights.
• Report to work on time, adhere to scheduled hours and project a professional image at all times.
• Adhere to productivity requirements.
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere by professional communication with customers, clients, co-workers and managers.
• Perform all other duties assigned by the department Supervisor, Lead Therapist or Regional Manager.
• Comply with facility policies re: lunch, sick and time off notification.
• Adhere to any and all other Facility written and oral policies and procedures.
