Job summary

Summit Care LLC seeks a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant to provide skilled therapy to adult and geriatric residents under the supervision of a Physical Therapist. You will document care, maintain therapy records, and support family and facility teams to ensure quality outcomes.

Required qualifications include PTA program completion and a state license, with strong communication and problem-solving skills. This is a full-time on-site role in Iowa focused on safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant Program
• Valid Physical Therapist Assistant License to practice in appropriate state(s)
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Effective leadership and customer relations skills
• Ability to exercise mature judgment with initiative in analyzing and solving problems

Responsibilities

• Provides therapeutic treatment in accordance with the established plan of care
• Documents treatment provided, including reasons for intervention and patient response
• Participates in the maintenance of therapy records
• Ensures availability of supplies and equipment
• Maintains appropriate patient schedules per established guidelines
• Documents quality of medical records for reimbursement and facility requirements
• Participates in patient, family, and facility meetings as appropriate
• Follows administrative policies including safety and infection control
• Coordinates and/or participates in training for facility staff and residents
• Initiates new programs focusing on functional outcomes to improve residents' quality of life
• Participates in continuous quality improvement
• Performs patient lifting using biomechanical techniques and can lift 50 pounds
• Able to walk, bend, stand, and reach consistently during shifts
