Job summary

Lawtell Elementary seeks a qualified classroom teacher to plan, organize, and implement an instructional program aligned with state and parish standards. The role includes managing an effective classroom, delivering engaging instruction, and coordinating IEP services when required to support diverse learners.

The position requires a valid Louisiana Teaching Certificate (Type C/Level 1) and a bachelor’s degree, with additional criteria the Board may establish.

Responsibilities

• Plan activities and use learner objectives aligned to state/parish curriculum.
• Create and maintain Individual Education Plans (IEPs) when appropriate.
• Deliver instruction and manage classroom learning to meet objectives.
• Assess student progress and provide timely feedback to students and parents.
• Collaborate with instructional staff, parents, and community resources to improve outcomes.
• Supervise paraprofessionals and coordinate with general education teachers.
