Job summary

LAWTELL ELEMENTARY is seeking a dedicated classroom teacher to plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional program. You will guide students to develop and fulfill academic potential while managing an effective educational environment responsive to student needs under Louisiana policies.

The role includes departmentalized, Special Education, Elementary and Secondary Teacher responsibilities with collaboration across staff and IEP coordination as required.

Qualifications

• Must hold valid Louisiana Teaching Certificate (Type C or Level 1).
• Bachelor’s degree in field.
• Additional criteria the Board may establish.

Responsibilities

• Plan lessons aligned to state and parish curriculum requirements.
• Manage classroom to create a safe, respectful learning environment.
• Deliver instruction using varied teaching materials and methods.
• Assess student progress and provide timely feedback.
• Develop/record lesson plans aligned to standards and content areas.
• Coordinate and ensure delivery of IEP services as needed.
• Collaborate with staff, parents, and community resources to improve outcomes.
• Supervise students and manage daily school activities as required.
