Job summary

Libertas School of Memphis is seeking a Certified Physical Education Teacher to lead elementary PE classes and oversee after-school sports programs in a Montessori-based charter school in Memphis, TN. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher required.
• State teaching license with physical education endorsement strongly preferred.
• At least two years of experience working with or coaching children in high-need communities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead Physical Education classes for groups of approximately 20–25 children to promote physical activity, develop motor skills, and encourage proper exercise and healthy living.
• Lead after-school sports activities, including coaching after-school sports teams and overseeing coaches.
• Full-time role with school day from 7:30 to 3:45; after-school programs until 5:30; schedule may flex to accommodate both instructional and after-school duties.
• Ensure play equipment is well maintained and properly stored at day’s end.
• Assist with periodic school events outside of the normal schedule.
• Supervise students in classroom and during lunch, recess, and nap periods as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned and report to the Assistant Principal of Administration, Middle School Director, and Afterschool Programs Manager.
