Job summary

Bristol Public Schools is seeking a City-wide Physical Education/Health Teacher currently assigned at Bristol Eastern High School to deliver comprehensive PE and health instruction in line with district standards. The teacher will cultivate physical fitness, movement skills, hygienic habits, and positive social-emotional development, while ensuring safety and supervising activities.

Candidates must hold a Bachelor Degree (Masters preferred for some positions) and a valid Connecticut Teaching

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree. Masters Degree for certain positions.
• Valid Connecticut Teaching Certificate.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate with students, parents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Teach physical fitness, health education, rhythms and dance, and team sports per district guidelines.
• Work with other PE teachers to plan a balanced program.
• Explain and model basic skills and strategies of sports and body movement.
• Provide individualized instruction to meet pupil needs where feasible.
• Ensure safety and maintain equipment and facilities.
• Communicate pupil progress with parents and counselors.
• Participate in faculty and curriculum committees.
