Job summary

Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) for the Operating Room. Join a dynamic team and support a wide range of surgical specialties with opportunities for shift flexibility and on-call coverage.

The role emphasizes aseptic technique, trauma support, and collaboration with surgeons, nurses, and anesthesia providers to ensure high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• National Certification or if previously employed to practice surgical technology as the primary function in another health care facility during the 2 years immediately preceding December 28, 2020, thirty (30) hours of continuing education every 2 years.
• CPR
• One year of experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Works closely with emergency services staff
• Establishes positive relationships with patients/families and visitors
• Performs aseptic surgical techniques while functioning as a surgical assistant for trauma alerts/procedures
• Responsible for the proper collection of most specimens used in laboratory analysis within the scope of their knowledge and experience (Phlebotomy, POC testing)
• Performs point of care testing, and follows appropriate quality control procedures
• Assists with the admission, transfer and discharge of patients as appropriate, including the transporting of patients throughout the facility
