Job summary

Neighborhood House Charter School (NHCS) is seeking an on-call substitute teacher. You will cover classrooms across grade levels when regular teachers are absent, following lesson plans and supervising lunch/recess.

The role requires adaptability, strong classroom management, and a passion for student growth. The schedule is Monday–Friday, 7:45 a.m.–4 p.m., at the Lower or Middle School, with compensation starting at $22/hr.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom coverage across grades when regular teachers are absent.
• Follow established lesson/activity plans and supervise duties.
• Enforce behavior expectations consistent with school policies.
• Complete tasks to support school operations when not assigned to a classroom.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
