Job summary

The Culinary Institute of America on-campus On-Call Dining Services Cook prepares hot and cold foods for breakfast and lunch and helps maintain the college’s standards of professionalism, quality, safety and sanitation.

The role supports Kitchen Facilities and Dining Services teams, coordinates with students and faculty, and assists with equipment management, inventory and product ordering. Flexible shifts required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of one (1) year of restaurant/food service experience or AOS degree in Culinary Arts.
• AOS Culinary Arts degree preferred.
• CIA graduate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides superior service to students, clients and Chefs.
• Ensures food and equipment availability by communicating with students, instructors and coworkers.
• Accommodates dietary concerns for allergies and religious practices.
• Prepares student meals and coordinates distribution of student produced food.
• Assists with menu development and inventory control.
• Assists with equipment and kitchen supplies, and with storage and handling.
