Job summary

Cox Media Group’s Long Island Radio is seeking a Part-Time On‑Air Host to bring a strong, engaging voice to weekends and additional shifts. The candidate should connect with audiences on-air, in person, and via social media, delivering compelling content with pace and energy suitable for a PPM world.

The role requires rock-solid on‑air skills, storytelling ability, and a proven track record in ratings and revenue.

Qualifications

• Strong on-air presence with ability to connect with listeners.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• Track record of success in ratings and revenue.
• Experience operating all on-air and production equipment.
• Experience with audio editing software such as Adobe Audition.
• Proficiency with Wide Orbit and web/social media tools.
• Available nights and weekends as needed.
• Must be social media savvy and engage Long Island audiences.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Show prep with format-related and local content; write and post web and social content; craft commercial/endorsement copy.
• Host regular weekend air shifts and other voice-tracked shifts, including news and traffic.
• Collaborate with program director to develop relatable content, execute format, and drive ratings goals.
• Operate control board; edit phone segments and interviews.
• Make remote appearances at station or life group functions as assigned.
• Collaborate with sales/promotions to maximize revenue opportunities.
