• Master's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan curriculum meeting student needs and diverse backgrounds.
• Establish department objectives and evaluation plans for implementation.
• Create a conducive classroom environment for learning.
• Guide learning toward curriculum goals with clear objectives for lessons and projects.
• Use instructional methods and materials appropriate for stated objectives.
• Assess student progress and provide reports as required.
• Diagnose student strengths/weaknesses with district specialists.
• Counsel with colleagues, students, and parents regularly.
• Implement policies governing student life and conduct in the classroom.
• Plan and supervise assignments for support staff and volunteers; evaluate effectiveness.
• Use technology in teaching and learning processes.
• Maintain accurate records and reports as required by policy and regulation.
• Adhere to ethics and district policies; support school improvement initiatives.
• Recognize indicators of student distress or abuse and take action as per procedures.
• Establish a testing environment and ensure test security.
