Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required.
• Valid Florida teaching certificate covering appropriate area of responsibility.
• Master's degree is preferred.
• Experience managing business/department functions and staff is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan individually or cooperatively a program of study that meets diverse student needs.
• Assist in establishing department or grade-level curriculum objectives and evaluations.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to student maturity.
• Guide learning toward curriculum goals and establish clear objectives for lessons.
• Employ instructional methods and materials aligned with stated objectives.
• Assess student progress and provide reports as required.
• Diagnose learning strengths/weaknesses and involve district specialists as needed.
• Counsel with colleagues, students, and parents regularly.
• Support administration in policy enforcement and classroom management.
• Plan and supervise assignments for support staff and volunteers.
• Use technology in teaching and learning processes.
• Maintain accurate records as required by law and policy.
• Adhere to Code of Ethics and district policy; participate in school initiatives.
• Recognize indicators of student distress or abuse and act accordingly.
• Establish testing environment and ensure test security.
