Job summary
Weigel Broadcasting Co. is seeking a Multimedia Journalist (MMJ) for ABC57 News in South Bend, Indiana. The ideal candidate will have a passion for public news and the ability to create original stories. Strong writing skills and camera presence are essential, along with proficiency in video shooting and editing.

Qualifications
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must submit a demo reel.
- Proficiency in writing, spelling, grammar, and the English language required.
- Must have no conflicts of interest regarding brand sponsorships.
- Willingness to work late nights, early mornings, and weekends.
- Experience with video cameras and editing preferred.
- Ability to stand for long periods and carry heavy objects.
Responsibilities
- Bring story ideas and leads to the newsroom.
- Turn at least one story per day in multiple formats.
- Adhere to management’s editorial guidance.
- Use social media to develop and update stories.
- Deliver live reports for the newscast.
- Shoot and edit video for on-air and online.
- Pivot news stories in breaking news situations.
