Job summary

Liberty FCU in Columbia, Tennessee seeks an experienced Mortgage Loan Originator to join our lending team. The successful candidate will initiate and develop mortgage loan business through self-generating activities and have experience with mortgage loan sales.

Responsibilities include interviewing borrowers, evaluating credit, pursuing leads, and maintaining knowledge of loan products, processing, and underwriting guidelines. Regulatory compliance with Federal/NCUA rules is essential.

Qualifications

2-3 years of mortgage origination experience preferred.
Bachelor's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

Conduct loan interviews, discuss programs, explain processes, and request supporting documentation for loan approval.
Evaluate credit of prospective borrowers for qualification purposes.
Diligently pursue leads provided.
Contact prospective borrower leads via telephone, email, or face to face.
Evaluate credit and financial status of prospective borrower to determine appropriate residential mortgage loan proposal.
Understand and apply all Federal and NCUA regulatory rules and regulations associated with mortgage lending.
Make sales calls routinely through face to face and phone contact with borrowers, ensuring clear understanding of options and informed decisions to best suit borrower's needs.
Maintain knowledge of available loan products, processing procedures and underwriting guidelines.
Prospect and network, building relationships with realtors, builders and other referral partners.
