Job summary

NewsNation is seeking a Segment Producer for Morning in America in Chicago. You will contribute story ideas, assemble elements, and craft engaging live segments across a range of topics, working closely with the Executive Producer, Senior Producers, and Line Producers.

Based at the network headquarters in Chicago, you will produce live guest segments, update stories, and assist in the control room as needed, while maintaining strong news judgment and collaboration with the team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience producing for national news programs or top 10 market newsrooms.
• Strong news judgment and ability to make quick, sound decisions.

Responsibilities

• Produce live guest segments and correspondent hits for Morning in America.
• Collaborate with correspondents to create compelling, accurate live hits and updates.
• Locate elements (video, graphics, lower thirds) and load into the rundown quickly and accurately.
• Write, organize, and produce scripts including teases, VO readers, Q&As, and packages.
• Keep leadership apprised of story developments.
• Assist in the control room if needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
