Sylvania is seeking a Middle School Wrestling Coach to support River Valley Middle/High School and New Buffalo High School. The role involves coaching, planning practices and games, and fostering teamwork across two districts.

The coach will emphasize safety, sportsmanship, and clear communication with athletes, parents, and staff, while aligning with district coaching standards and schedules.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Playing experience in sport.
• Coaching experience and knowledge of MHSAA standards.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to build professional relationships with staff, parents, students and community.

Responsibilities

• Maintain reliable, on-site attendance.
• Model and reinforce sportsmanship and behavior expectations.
• Develop engaging practice and game plans.
• Provide instruction to meet individual athlete needs.
• Monitor progress and adjust coaching strategies accordingly.
• Participate in team, coaches and parent meetings.
• Communicate progress and scheduling updates to athletes and parents.
