Job summary

The Foundation Schools in Maryland are seeking a dedicated special education teacher to deliver instruction in a self-contained setting, aligning with IEP requirements and using differentiated strategies. You will manage behavior, document progress, and collaborate with families and school staff to support student growth.

Full-time position with a focus on compliant curriculum delivery, data-driven instruction, and ongoing professional development within a supportive school community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher is required; Master’s degree is preferred.
• MSDE license or eligibility for MSDE license in special education (and appropriate grade band).
• Two or more years of experience in a special education setting or with emotionally disabled students or autism is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Employ special education strategies to advance students’ academic progress and social-emotional growth.
• Demonstrate knowledge of subjects and teach content using the approved curriculum.
• Communicate with parents/guardians about students’ academic and behavior progress.
