Qualifications

• Knowledge of current teaching methods and differentiated instruction.
• Knowledge of a wide range of science subject areas (general, earth, biology, physiology, chemistry, physics).
• Knowledge of data information systems and data analysis; ability to form action plans.
• Knowledge of applicable federal and state education laws.
• Ability to use computer networks and classroom software.
• Ability to organize and coordinate work.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents.
• Ability to engage in self-evaluation for professional growth.
• Ability to collaborate with colleagues.

Responsabilités

• Teaches science in line with district curriculum across general science, earth science, biology, physiology, chemistry, and physics.
• Promotes critical and creative thinking and analysis.
• Maintains a safe classroom conducive to individualized and small-group instruction.
• Develops lesson plans and instructional materials; translates plans into learning experiences.
• Designs activities demonstrating application of science to everyday life including projects and labs.
• Instructs students in safe use of equipment and chemicals; monitors safety.
• Assesses student progress and adapts instruction for diverse learners.
• Keeps informed about standardized tests and aligns curriculum accordingly.
• Pursues professional development through seminars and collaboration.
• Maintains records of grades and attendance; communicates with parents.
• Coordinates with staff and participates in meetings; orders books and supplies.
• Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal.
