Matchbook Learning in Indianapolis is seeking a Middle School Science Teacher to join our departmentalized team. You will teach a single grade level (6th, 7th, or 8th) using Elevate Science with strong data-informed instruction and ongoing coaching.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, or a quantitative field is preferred.
• Strong science content knowledge at the middle school level.
• Valid Indiana teaching license OR enrolled in a state-approved transition-to-teaching program.
• Genuine growth mindset and openness to coaching and instructional feedback.
• Commitment to high expectations for all students, including those with high needs.

Responsibilities

• Teach science to one assigned middle school grade level (6th, 7th, or 8th).
• Deliver instruction with Elevate Science curriculum with fidelity—materials provided.
• Use IXL data to inform daily and weekly instruction.
• Participate in weekly/bi-weekly data cycles and track student progress.
• Implement SIOP-aligned strategies to support Multilingual Learners.
• Conduct student conferencing to build relationships and accountability.
• Maintain a structured, high-expectation classroom environment using PBIS.
• Actively participate in coaching cycles, walkthroughs, and professional development.
• Communicate proactively with families about student progress.
• Collaborate with flex teachers, instructional coaches, and school leadership.
