Job summary

Urbana 6th Grade Center is seeking a Middle School Science Teacher to educate and inspire students at the Urbana campus. You will deliver science instruction, develop engaging lessons, and support students in attaining core competencies in science and related subjects.

The role requires a valid Illinois teaching license, 2-3 years of experience at the middle school level, and a commitment to working with bilingual and EL students to ensure inclusive learning for all.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with licensure and content endorsement.
• 2-3 years teaching experience at this level or as a new college graduate.
• Strong desire to work with bilingual and EL students.

Responsibilities

• Meets and instructs classes at the locations and times designated.
• Demonstrates effective preparation for instruction and plans lessons aligned to curriculum goals.
• Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning and manages student behavior.
• Assesses student progress and provides reports as required.
• Maintains accurate records and communicates with administration as needed.
