Job summary

Topeka Public Schools is seeking a qualified science teacher with a current Kansas teaching license. A copy of licensure must be attached to the application. The teacher will report to the Building Administrator and work within the Topeka Public Schools system.

The position requires strong communication, collaboration, and planning skills, and may prefer candidates with an ESOL endorsement. Responsibilities include lesson design, student instruction, assessment development, and school community

Qualifications

• Must meet Kansas State Department of Education licensure requirements for teaching science.
• Good communication, consultation, and team building skills are important.

Responsibilities

• Lesson planning
• Assisting in the selection and approval of instructional materials, supplies and equipment
• Student instruction
• Maintaining accurate records
• Assisting with curriculum revision when appropriate
• Supervising students in common areas of the building
• Communicating effectively with administrators, parents, and staff
• Assisting with school events
• Supporting the mission of Topeka Public Schools
• Other duties as assigned by the Principal
