Job summary

Emblaze Academy in the Bronx seeks a dynamic Math Teacher to deliver rigorous, standards-aligned instruction for grades 6–8, with emphasis on Regents preparation and real-world application.

You will use data-driven practices, collaborate with the Assistant Principal of Curriculum and Instruction and Special Education teams, and engage families to support every scholar.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master’s degree in Education or Math-related field preferred.
• New York State certification in Math 5–9 or Childhood Education with extension preferred.
• Prior experience teaching middle school math, especially in under-resourced settings; strong belief in student potential.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver daily math lessons aligned to grade-level standards and pacing guides.
• Scaffold instruction with models, guided practice, and checks for understanding.
• Use data from daily work and assessments to reteach, accelerate, and personalize learning.
• Collaborate with co-teachers, SPED staff, and STEM teammates to support student success.
• Build a strong classroom culture rooted in respect, integrity, scholarship, and effort.
• Provide regular feedback to students and maintain communication with families.
• Participate in weekly professional development and team planning.
