Job summary

North Shore Hebrew Academy is seeking a caring, experienced Gemara teacher for its Middle School Judaic Studies program. You will plan lessons, deliver differentiated Gemara instruction, assess students, and collaborate with colleagues to support holistically developing learners.

The ideal candidate has at least three years of head-teacher Gemara experience, proficiency with Hebrew materials, and a passion for teaching middle school students in a Modern Orthodox setting.

Qualifications

• BA required, MA degree in education preferred.
• Experience in middle school preferred; mentoring and support for new teachers.
• Teaching philosophy focused on growth in academic, social and emotional domains.
• Collaborative, teamwork-oriented approach.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Believes in a student-centered approach to teaching and learning.
• Will be a role model for Jewish living for students.

Responsibilities

• Plan lessons and deliver differentiated Gemara instruction.
