Qualifications

• Successful coaching experience preferred.
• CPR, AFEP Coaching Principles and Sport First Aid Courses or equivalent (may take within first year).
• At least 20 years of age.
• High School diploma.
• Must be approved by the Oxford Hills School District.
• Must sign a statement agreeing to comply with MPA By-Laws, policies and Code of Ethics.

Responsibilities

• Coaches individual participants in skills for excellence in the sport.
• Plans and schedules regular practice in-season.
• Works with Athletic Director in scheduling intramural and interscholastic contests.
• Recommends purchase of equipment, supplies and uniforms as appropriate.
• Maintains attendance forms, insurance records and similar paperwork.
• Oversees safety conditions of the facility.
• Establishes performance criteria for eligibility in interscholastic competition.
• Enforces discipline and sportsmanlike behavior, and oversees penalties for breaches.
• Collaborates with middle school, junior varsity and freshman programs.
• Attends lectures, rules interpretations and clinics to stay current.
• Meets with parents, media, boosters to improve public relations and support for the sport.
• Carries out procedures for injury prevention, care and treatment.
• Assumes other duties as assigned by Athletic Director.
