Job summary

The successful candidate will plan lessons, assess student progress, collaborate with specialists, and participate in professional development while maintaining open communication with families and school staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or required training for subject and level assigned.
• Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with district curriculum.
• Create lessons reflecting accommodations for different learning styles.
• Present subject matter per TEA guidelines and district policies.
• Plan and use instructional strategies and materials suited to student needs.
• Assess student learning and use results to plan activities.
• Collaborate with special education teachers to modify curricula per IEP.
• Set instructional goals with staff per district requirements.
• Plan and supervise teacher aide and volunteer assignments.
• Use technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process.
• Help students improve study methods and habits.
• Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement via testing.
• Support extracurricular activities approved by campus principal.
• Be a positive role model and uphold the district mission.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and development.
• Manage student behavior per the Student Code of Conduct.
