Job summary

Fort Worth ISD seeks a qualified educator to teach All Subjects for grades 6-8. This pool posting is for multiple openings across middle school classrooms, delivering standards-based instruction and engaging students.

Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree and a valid Texas teaching certificate (or be admitted to an ACP). Experience with diverse student populations is preferred; bilingual ability is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Valid Texas Teacher certificate at the appropriate level for assignment OR Accepted in an ACP and have passed required examinations.
• Experience working with diverse student populations preferred.
• Bilingual fluency is beneficial in some settings.

Responsibilities

• Teach the District curriculum utilizing well-designed lesson plans and rigorous instruction with measurable objectives.
• Monitor student progress and differentiate instruction to address individual needs.
• Develop instructional units and opportunities for enrichment, differentiation and project-based learning.
• Assess and document mastery of objectives using multiple assessment tools including tests and observations.
• Perform standard testing duties, proctor tests, and maintain accurate test data records.
• Maintain accurate attendance records, grade reports, and student files.
• Apply effective classroom management and student-centered discipline techniques.
• Monitor student behavior outside the classroom at designated times and stations.
• Engage parents by initiating conferences and encouraging home support for learning.
• Contribute to committees, collaborate with peers, and participate in professional development.
• Attend school events during and outside regular hours; perform duties as assigned.
• "Other duties as assigned" may include supplemental assignments under special funds.
