Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Graduate.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or at least one year as a Medical Assistant or CCMA or NCRMA certification.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification within 14 days.

Responsibilities

• Schedules tests, obtains films/reports, and prepares laboratory specimens.
• Assists physicians/nurses with procedures and examinations per competency checklist.
• Coordinates patient care with the health care team and records patient history elements.
• Submits prescriptions and refills to outpatient pharmacies electronically or by fax.
• Ensures documentation is complete in medical records and forms.
• Maintains orderly exam rooms and checks logs and equipment.
• Performs greeting, registration, scheduling, and ambulatory care charges tasks.
• Performs simple procedures as directed and records vital signs in the medical record.
