Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant training program with certificate OR 1–3 years experience as a Medical Assistant, EMT, or CNA with certificate.
• Northwell Health may consider candidates who complete the internal MA training program.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with health care team to plan patient care and document visit information.
• Performs vital signs and basic screenings; documents findings.
• Collects specimens and assists with lab orders; completes requisitions and routes specimens.
• Performs daily controls and calibration of lab equipment and reports inaccuracies.
• Performs ECGs and phlebotomy per provider orders; follows infection control standards.
• Assists providers with procedures and examinations following protocols.
• Maintains exam rooms, stocks supplies, and logs equipment checks.
• Pre-visit chart preparation to ensure lab results and documentation are available.
• Performs clerical duties to support patient flow and records.
