Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program with externship preferred, or at least one year of direct patient care experience as a medical assistant
• Knowledge of clinical procedures and medical terminology
• Experience with occupational medicine requirements (state-specific) preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT and Non-DOT drug and alcohol testing
• Prepare patients for examinations including vital signs and ancillary testing
• Conduct rapid screening tests (influenza, strep, mono, glucose, etc.)
• Assist providers during examination and treatment
• Triage emergent patients and perform routine medical procedures as ordered
• Assist with procedure setup and injury care
• Apply bandages, dressings and splints as ordered
• Dispense medications and DME per clinician instructions in line with state regulations
• Perform quality assurance on equipment and testing processes
• Maintain supplies, clean rooms and equipment, stock exam rooms
• Operate medical devices with calibration and documented records
• Notify supervisor if equipment or supplies are insufficient or malfunctioning
• Support patient flow and inform patients of wait times
• Handle front and back office clerical duties and ensure accurate documentation
