Qualifications

• Ability to speak clearly and distinctly.

• Possession of appropriate degree as required by the position.
• Pennsylvania Instructional Teaching Certificate is required.

Responsibilities

• Teaches mathematics to secondary students using approved curriculum.
• Instructs students in citizenship and subject matter per state regulations.
• Develops lesson plans and uses discovery and lab-based methods.
• Demonstrates mathematical concepts with standard instructional aids.
• Provides individualized or small group instruction as needed.
• Designs activities connecting math to the real world.
• Maintains classroom behavior standards for an orderly environment.
• Evaluates student progress in math knowledge and skills.
• Selects and requisitions books and instructional materials.
• Communicates progress with parents and counselors.
• Identifies student needs and collaborates with staff.
• Supervises students in activities beyond regular class time.
• Participates in curriculum development and faculty committees.
• Maintains professional competence through in-service education.
• Assists in evaluating teacher performance per district guidelines.
