Job summary

Marysville-Pilchuck High School in Marysville, WA seeks a 1.0 FTE leave replacement Math teacher to continue quality instruction throughout the school year. The successful candidate will implement district curricula and maintain a motivating learning environment.

The role requires a valid Washington State teaching certificate with an endorsement for mathematics and the ability to collaborate with staff and families. Starting date is immediate.

Qualifications

• Valid Washington State Teaching certificate with appropriate endorsement for position required.
• Additional secondary endorsement required.
• Bilingual preferred.
• Experience and/or knowledge of Common Core Standards required.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Successful teaching experience at appropriate grade level preferred.
• Experience and/or training with cultural, ethnic, and language diversity preferred.
• Proof of Immunization (if born 1/1/57 or later).

Responsibilities

• Prepare teaching materials and reports for the purpose of implementing lesson plans and providing documentation of teacher and student progress.
• Monitor student activities for the purpose of providing a safe and optimal learning environment.
• Report incidents for the purpose of maintaining personal safety and adhering to education code.
• Provide an exceptional educational experience to all students; communicate an enthusiasm for learning.
• Provide clear and focused instruction for all students by using a variety of teaching strategies.
• Advise parents and/or legal guardians of student progress for the purpose of supporting teacher’s expectations.
• Assess and monitor students for the purpose of providing feedback to students, parents, and administration.
• Collaborate with school personnel, parents, and community agencies to improve student outcomes.
• Direct instructional assistants and volunteers to support the school program.
• Utilize district adopted curriculum to guide instruction.
• Establish and maintain standards of student behavior.
• Communicate regularly with parents.
• Maintain regular work hours.
• Commit to Code of Professional Conduct.
