Job summary

Maplewood School District seeks a Leave Replacement Teacher of Math at Maplewood Middle School to teach a challenging middle school Mathematics curriculum starting October 20, 2026, through March 2027. The role requires strong instructional skills and the ability to engage students across grade 6–8.

The ideal candidate holds New Jersey Certification for Teacher of Math (6–8), with experience in differentiated instruction and a proven ability to connect with students, parents, and colleagues.

Qualifications

• NJ Certification required for Teacher of Math or Elementary with Math specialization (Grades 6-8).
• Working knowledge of the Common Core State Standards and the Standards of Mathematical Practice.
• Experience with differentiated instruction.
• Teaching experience preferred, especially with middle school students.

Responsibilities

• Implements instruction to meet the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.
• Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to students’ maturity and interests.
• Guides the learning process toward curriculum goals and objectives.
• Employs instructional methods and materials appropriate for stated objectives.
• Assesses student performance on an ongoing basis and provides progress reports.
