Job summary

Daily hours are 8:45 AM–4:15 PM, with a tentative start date of 11/16/2026 and compensation at $24.64 per hour. The substitute will deliver instruction, manage the classroom, and maintain records while collaborating with school staff to ensure equitable learning

Qualifications

• An Associate's degree or 60 college credits.
• Possess a Bachelor's/Master's Degree from an accredited institution.
• MSDE issued professional teacher certificate with the appropriate content endorsement.
• Bilingual (Spanish).
• Familiarity with the FCPS policies, goals and programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide for instructional needs and interests of students with daily lesson planning.
• Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and where classroom time is utilized effectively.
• Demonstrate the use of a variety of teaching techniques and resources to implement the curriculum.
• Use evaluation to promote student growth and development intellectually, physically, socially, and emotionally.
• Demonstrate fair, firm, and consistent behavior toward students and promote self-discipline.
• Demonstrate effective communication with students, parents, staff, and community.
• Guide the learning process toward the achievement of school goals by following policies.
• Assist administration and staff in achieving the school mission with ethical standards.
• Strive to maintain and improve professional competencies.
• Supervise students in various school settings.
• Maintain appropriate records.
• Monitor use and care of equipment, materials, and facilities.
