• DESE license as library teacher is required
• Classroom teaching experience is preferred
• Strong collaboration and instructional planning skills

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with classroom teachers to design, teach, and assess learning experiences incorporating inquiry and information literacy
• Model effective strategies for integrating library and technology skills
• Promote a love of reading and knowledge of literature appropriate to middle school
• Assist with locating, interpreting information inside and outside the library media center
• Provide instruction in use of reference tools and Dewey Decimal System
• Deliver professional development for staff aligned with school goals
• Evaluate and integrate library/media resources and contribute to policies
• Manage the School Library Program to align with standards
• Maintain and update library website and budget
