Job summary

Michael Best is seeking a Litigation Practice Coordinator to join our Los Angeles (Brentwood) office. The Legal Assistant will provide legal and administrative support to timekeepers in the Labor & Employment practice area supporting employment litigators as well as Venture Best Partners and Associates as needed. Prior experience as a Legal Assistant and experience supporting Litigation attorneys is required.

This position offers flexibility and may be hybrid or fully remote.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; higher diploma preferred.
• 2–3 years of experience in a legal environment, preferably litigation.
• Ability to work in the office four to five days per week.
• Strong organizational and communication skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Manage attorney calendars, trials, deadlines, meetings and travel plans.
• E-file and file litigation documents in state and federal courts.
• Electronic calendaring and docket management in CourtAlert.
• Proofread documents for formatting, spelling and grammar.
• Prepare engagement letters and process new client/matter intake.
• Enter time into time management software for timekeepers.
• Create reports using Excel and communicate billing status to clients.
• Coordinate with support departments and track CLE credits.
