Job summary

Illinois School District U-46 is seeking a Theatre Production: Director at Streamwood High School to build and sustain a high-quality theatre program, focusing on student-centered instruction and best practices. You will oversee staging, blocking, and production design while guiding student performers and coordinating with the production team.

Qualifications

• Requires strong communication and collaboration skills for working with students, parents, and staff.
• Ability to design and implement theatre instruction with best-practice strategies.
• Experience in budgeting and managing production resources is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement research-based instructional strategies engaging all students and differentiating for diverse abilities.
• Seek administrative guidance on budgets and spending procedures.
• Communicate effectively with parents, students, administrators, and colleagues.
• Maintain high expectations for student achievement and behavior, motivating students to excel.
• Create stage blocking and general show design; train students in acting and blocking.
• Collaborate with Production Team and procure production rights and show dates.
• Ensure all paperwork, liability waivers, and media releases are on file.
• Organize publicity materials and coordinate parent volunteers as needed.
• Manage production finances and track expenditures; attend all performances.
