Job summary

SALADO ISD seeks a High School Teacher in Speech and Debate to deliver instruction aligned with district curriculum in a Texas classroom. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with endorsements or training for subject and level assigned.
• Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned to district curriculum and show preparation evidence.
• Plan instructional strategies and use materials and technology for diverse learners.
• Assess student learning styles and adjust activities accordingly.
• Collaborate with special education staff to modify curricula per IEPs.
• Work with staff to set instructional goals and methods per district requirements.
• Plan and assign work to instructional aides and volunteers.
• Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal methods.
• Support extracurricular activities as assigned and sponsor approved activities.
• Be a positive role model and support the school mission.
• Create a conducive learning environment and manage classroom behavior.
• Protect students, equipment, and facilities; follow safety protocols.
• Assist in selecting books and instructional materials.
• Maintain reports and required documents.
• Establish professional relationships with parents and community.
• Participate in staff development to improve job-related skills.
• Comply with regulations and attend faculty meetings.
• Serve on staff committees as required.
• Direct the work of instructional aides.
