Job summary

Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools is seeking a Science Teacher in North Carolina. Licensed or eligible to be licensed in 9-12 science and designated Highly Qualified in high school science are required. Prior high school science experience is preferred.

Ten-month year with salary per NC Teacher Salary plus an 18% supplement and full benefits. The teacher will develop lessons, maintain a productive classroom, evaluate student progress, and collaborate with colleagues to support student growth and

Qualifications

Licensed or eligible to be licensed in 9-12 science.
Must be designated as HIGHLY QUALIFIED in high school science.
Previous experience in high school science preferred.

Responsibilities

Develops lesson plans and instructional materials; provides individualized and small group instruction.
Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to students' maturity and interests.
Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior to create a functional learning atmosphere.
Guides learning toward curriculum goals and communicates objectives to students.
Evaluates student progress and maintains records; prepares progress reports.
Communicates with parents to discuss student progress and interprets the school program.
Collaborates with colleagues to promote an optimal learning environment.
