Job summary

Northwest Catholic High School is seeking a dynamic Science teacher for a long-term substitute to cover a maternity leave. The ideal candidate differentiates curriculum, teaches multiple levels within the department, fosters a positive work environment, and contributes to the team. Previous high school science teaching is preferred.

Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in the field or 24 credit hours, and should be willing to support students’ spiritual and intellectual formation.

Qualifications

• Passion for and understanding of field of study.
• Bachelor’s degree in field or 24 credit hours in primary content taught.
• 12 hours of education classes or a valid state certificate in content area preferred.
• Willingness to support high school students in spiritual and intellectual formation.
• Ability to apply current principles, theories, methods, techniques, and strategies in classroom instruction.
• Understanding of curriculum design and mapping.
• Interest in educational technology including the use of 1-1 iPad technology.
