Job summary

Norwalk Public Schools seeks a High School Biology teacher to deliver engaging science instruction at Brien McMahon High School, assess student learning, and collaborate with parents and staff to support student growth.

A valid CSDE Biology certification (030) and a Bachelor’s degree in science are required; experience in urban, multicultural settings and team teaching is preferred. Salary is in accordance with the NFT contract.

Qualifications

• Active CSDE Biology certification is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Science is required.
• Experience in multicultural, urban settings is preferred.
• Experience with team teaching is desired.

Responsibilities

• Follow the scope and sequence defined by the Norwalk Board of Education.
• Prepare lesson plans with clear objectives and appropriate strategies.
• Demonstrate strong content knowledge in biology.
• Maintain accurate records and communication with parents/guardians.
• Conduct parent/teacher conferences and assess student progress.
• Design instruction for diverse learners and use assessments to refine practices.
• Collaborate with colleagues to support school goals.
