YMCA of the Cedar Rapids Metro Area is seeking a group exercise instructor to lead safe, engaging classes under the supervision of the Fitness Coordinator or Branch Director.

You will foster member relationships, deliver warm-ups, cardio, strength, cool down, and stretches, and assist with branch events to grow the program.

Required certifications include CPR/AED/First Aid and a nationally recognized group fitness credential; reliability and teamwork are essential in this role.

Qualificações

• CPR/AED/First Aid certification must be current or obtainable within 60 days.
• Nationally recognized group fitness certification required.
• Must be able to teach a regular scheduled group exercise class weekly.
• Maintain certifications and provide copies annually.

Responsabilidades

• Provide a safe and effective workout for each class format.
• Supervise participants and guide warm-up, cardio, strength, cool down, and stretching.
• Maintain a clean, safe workout area and sanitize equipment after use.
• Arrive on time and prepare to teach; arrange substitutes when needed.
• Adapt demonstrations to accommodate different abilities.

Formação académica

National group fitness certification (ACSM/ACE/AFAA/ISSA/NSCA/NETA) or equivalent
