Job summary

Babson College’s Division of Athletics & Recreation invites qualified applicants for the Group Exercise Instructor role on campus. Under supervision, you will provide excellent instruction across health/fitness formats and serve as a fitness resource for program participants and Recreation Members to encourage ongoing attendance.

A strong customer-service mindset and ability to engage with Babson’s diverse community are essential.

Qualifications

• ACE, NASM or other nationally accredited organization certification required.
• Interview/audition demonstrating safety cues, modifications and presentation skills.
• 1–2 years of experience teaching group fitness or small-group training.
• First Aid, CPR & AED certification (or on-site training).
• Willingness to work some nights/weekends and sub if needed.
• Commitment to a diverse and inclusive environment.

Responsibilities

• Teach classes with energy and enthusiasm.
• Maintain safe and healthy exercise environments.
• Learn and remember participant names.
• Keep class areas clean and set per procedures.
• Arrive early to greet participants and address questions.
• Dress appropriately for teaching.
• Start and end classes on time.
• Report equipment/facility problems to management.
• Note new participants and share basic exercise information.
• Be well-prepared, music cued and routines planned.
• Ensure compliance with Babson College policies.
• Represent the Athletic Department in the Babson Community.
