The role emphasizes safety, effective communication, and promoting Fitness Connection programs. CPR/AED certification and GXI credentials are required to support member wellbeing and class quality.

Qualifications

• Must provide verifiable proof of education/certification for specialized skill formats they will be instructing (e.g. Yoga, Pilates, Senior Fitness)
• Must have company approved current national GXI certification
• Must have/obtain CPR AED certification and basic first-aid training

Responsibilities

• Arrive 10–15 minutes before class to greet members and assess fitness levels.
• Ensure fitness attire and equipment are ready; prepare appropriate music with safe language.
• Lead class, explain format, and assess first-timers and varying fitness levels.
• Monitor form, offer variations, and create a motivational, safe environment.
• Close class, collect feedback, and return equipment and microphone properly.
• Coordinate substitutes and follow closing procedures when needed.
• Attend staff meetings and maintain accurate time records.
• Promote COVID-19/CDC guidelines and Fitness Connection programs.
