Job summary

The Jewish Community Center of Greater Columbus is seeking a fitness instructor to help its community establish, maintain, and exceed fitness goals. You will engage members, lead group classes with safety and professionalism, and maintain studio standards.

Requirements include a nationally recognized Group Exercise Certification, CPR/AED certification, and at least 1 year of group-exercise teaching experience. On-site position with a focus on quality service to members.

Qualifications

• Nationally recognized Group Exercise Certification required.
• High school Diploma / GED preferred.
• CPR/AED certification required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience leading group exercise courses.

Responsibilities

• Engage members in conversation; address them by first name.
• Must arrive to class ten minutes early.
• Must conduct all classes in a safe and effective manner.
• Turn off stereo equipment at the end of class.
• Put away and clean any equipment used.
• Tidy the group exercise studio; manage water bottles and trash.
• Provide music for class; ensure appropriateness.
• Dress code: modest attire; no bare chest or very short shorts.
• Use required technology (Upace/MyJ, Paycom).
• Maintain current exercise certifications and CPR/AED.
• Record class attendance weekly; adjust for low attendance.
• All other duties as assigned.
