Job summary

Futrend Technology, Inc. is seeking a Mid-Level Full Stack & DevOps Engineer to support the National Library of Medicine in building and securing enterprise web apps.

You will work across Python/Django, Java/Spring Boot, and Node.js, with AWS-based cloud environments and robust CI/CD. The role requires strong multi-language skills, expertise in secure APIs, and experience delivering interoperable NIH/NIH-funded systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT or related field.
• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 5+ years full-stack development experience.
• Strong programming capabilities in Python, Java, and Node.js.
• Proficiency with Git and collaborative workflows.
• Strong understanding of RESTful API design and systems integration.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Python, Java, and Node.js.
• Build secure REST and GraphQL APIs for NIH systems interoperability.
• Develop modern front-end apps using React or Angular with USWDS accessibility.
• Operate and enhance AWS environments (EC2, S3, RDS/Aurora, Lambda, CloudFront, IAM).
• Build, monitor, and optimize CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
• Manage MongoDB clusters; design schemas, indexing, and replication.
• Develop IaC using Terraform or CloudFormation for secure deployments.
• Monitor performance using CloudWatch/OpenSearch and observability tools.
• Create architecture diagrams, runbooks, and SOPs; mentor juniors.
