Job summary

Taher, Inc. is seeking an energetic Assistant Food Service Director to lead a K-12 school lunch program in Miller, SD. The role focuses on staff training, positive leadership, and delivering high-quality meals to students.

You will support the Food Service Director, manage daily production, maintain HACCP standards, oversee inventory and costs, and engage with clients through marketing efforts and regular communication. This is a day-shift role with opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• 1 year of previous experience in a similar role with an associate degree in hospitality/dietetics preferred
• Excellent organizational and communication skills are required.
• Must pass criminal background check and maintain ServSafe certification.

Responsibilities

• Updating social media as required
• Archiving special menu and events with pictures and commentary
• Executing outstanding catering events
• Assist Food Service Director in delivering budgeted financial results
• Creating a positive team environment

Qualifications and Skills

• 1 year of previous experience in a similar role with an associate degree in hospitality/dietetics preferred
• Ability to multi‑task and adjust priorities as required
• Exceptional organizational skills
• Excellent communication (oral and written) skills.
• Must have Serv/Safe certification
• Previous experience managing food and labor costs
• Experience managing a staff
• Proficient computer skills in MS Office and other platforms
• Catering experience, a plus
• Successfully pass a criminal background check
