Job summary

The Living Desert in Palm Desert, CA seeks a Food Service Cook to support daily restaurant operations, assist with BOH and line prep, and maintain safety and quality standards. You will handle food quantities, temperatures, and cleanliness while ensuring excellent guest service and proper hygiene practices.

Ideal candidates have 1-2 years of food prep experience, a valid food handling permit, and the ability to work varied hours, including nights and weekends, in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Food handling permit required.
• 1-2 years food preparation experience.
• Able to stand for extended periods and lift 10-35 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform SSA EXTRA Guest Service steps to ensure a memorable guest experience.
• Support restaurant prep (BOH and line) for daily operations.
• Meet daily quick service, food safety, quality, availability and guest service standards.
• Ensure proper food quantities are set for daily and ongoing service.
• Maintain safety logs including temperatures, rotation and waste as necessary.
• Ensure proper uniform, hygiene, handwashing and glove use.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Assist with dishwashing as necessary.
• Communicate issues to supervisor to mitigate complaints.
• Remain knowledgeable of menu items, prices and specials for guests.
