Job summary

White Horse Catering in Wellington, FL is seeking a Food Runner to swiftly deliver orders from the kitchen to guests' tables with accuracy and a friendly demeanor, maintaining safety standards and proper temperature.

You will coordinate between front and back house teams, relay kitchen orders, assist with table settings and refills, answer questions about ingredients, and support guests from arrival to check. Must be able to stand/walk long hours and lift trays.

• Ability to follow safety rules and guidelines throughout the kitchen and restaurant.
• Ability to operate point-of-sale system.

Responsibilities

• Delivers food orders from the kitchen to guests’ tables rapidly and accurately.
• Acts as the contact point between Front and Back of the House staff.
• Communicates food orders to chefs, paying attention to priorities and special requests (e.g., food allergies).
• Assists the wait staff with table setting by fetching and placing appropriate tableware, eating utensils and napkins.
• Serves welcome drinks and hors d’oeuvres, upon guests’ arrival.
• Ensures food is served in accordance with safety standards (e.g., proper temperature).
• Checks in with guests and take additional orders or refill water, as needed.
• Removes dirty dishes and utensils.
• Answers guests’ questions about ingredients and menu items.
• Inform restaurant staff about guests’ feedback or requests (e.g., when they ask for the check).
• Performs other duties as assigned.
