BASIS Phoenix South is looking for a Middle & High School English Teacher to join a bright, passionate team in a Title I campus in Phoenix, AZ. The role includes teaching one Journalism course and collaborating with educators on BASIS curriculum.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in the subject, IVP fingerprint clearance, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. A Master's degree and 2+ years of teaching are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in subject matter (or 24+ credit hours in applicable subject matter with other degree).
• Valid Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and facilitate subject and grade specific lesson plans.
• Provide instruction at a level above grade standard in an interactive learning environment.
• Implement the BASIS Curriculum with creative lessons and assessments.
• Collaborate with BASIS Curriculum teachers to develop curriculum and share best practices.
• Tutor students in content-specific knowledge and skills to boost academic trajectory.
• Manage student behavior to foster achievement and responsibility.
• Support non-instructional functions such as Early Bird, Late Bird, and lunch.
• Maintain regular, full attendance and supervise students as needed.
