Job summary

The Classical Academy in Colorado Springs is seeking a Classroom Teacher for grades K-6. The role involves creating a positive learning environment, developing aligned curriculum, and reporting progress to parents twice yearly.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree and fulfillment of TCA’s highly qualified status. Spalding training and CPR/First Aid certification are required or must be obtained. Teaching experience in elementary settings is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required and highly qualified elementary teacher per The Classical Academy requirements.
• Experience teaching in an elementary classroom is preferred.
• Complete Spalding training (provided) and CPR/First Aid certification are required or willing to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Create a positive classroom atmosphere to support individual student learning.
• Develop curriculum and lesson plans aligned with The Classical Academy philosophy.
• Assess progress and prepare reports twice a year for parents.
• Communicate regularly with parents and coordinate with staff.
• Attend meetings and participate in RtI, PST and SPED as needed.
